The Health Center is comprised of the Carol Woods' Clinic on the first floor, and a total of 60 rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors dedicated to nursing care. The 30 rooms on the 3rd floor are licensed for Medicare skilled nursing.
Carol Woods' Health Center is known for its residential atmosphere. Rooms are clustered together to form small neighborhoods, each designed to include five private and one semi-private room, a sitting area and dining room. Residents enjoy the comfort of their own furniture and décor, and meals are served from a buffet cart, whereby residents make their selections at the time a meal is served rather than in advance.
Known internationally as a model for innovative, comprehensive health care, Carol Woods prides itself on supporting resident autonomy and maximizing quality of life. The focus of care is to provide on-going communication and outcomes that meet each individual’s goals related to health and well-being.
Life Enrichment staff in the Health Center organize activities such as flower arranging, worship services, reminiscing and other offerings of interest. Intergenerational opportunities occur with the Children's Center at Carol Woods. A social worker, pastoral counselor and private pay clinical psychologist are available to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of residents in the Health Center. Carol Woods also contracts with local hospice agencies so that residents may receive specialized end-of-life care and support.
