Fairview Health & Retirement Center offers a wide range of services and amenities aimed at making residential living, recovery from illness, and long-term health care a family experience. Established in 1964, we are the oldest locally owned and operated residential health care setting in Buncombe County. Despite the region’s tight labor market, we have been able to attract and retain excellent employees – often drawing several people with different skills and talents from a single family. The third generation of our family of nurses and administrators now dedicates itself to continuing the tradition of excellence. Our services and amenities include:
Medical Care
A medical team composed of geriatric and family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, and a registered dietician are important members of our resident care team. We are fortunate to have a caring and involved Medical Director who takes personal interest in each resident and makes routine weekly house calls to our facility. Residents may also choose to retain their own attending physician.
Nursing and Rehabilitative Care
Our Health Care Center provides the best in recovery, rehabilitative and extended care. Under the supervision of registered nurses (RN’s) and in cooperation with each resident’s physician and family, a care plan guides each resident’s care. A comprehensive in-house program of rehabilitative services is staffed full time with physical, occupational, rehabilitation and speech therapists. Our on-site pharmacy, under the direction of a registered pharmacist ensures that prescriptions are filled promptly. Social workers and activity professionals work to make each resident as happy and content as possible, with opportunities to participate in stimulation, therapeutic activities and community life.
Assisted Living
A selection of suites is available in a gracious, scenic and restful environment at prices within everyone’s reach. A full range of amenities such as laundry, housekeeping, on-site pharmacy and medication administration, a stimulation activities program, medical and shopping transportation are provided. Three well-balanced meals are served in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Flesher’s Fairview Health & Retirement Center strives to stay abreast and outpace best practices in health and long-term care for older adults and others with challenges that prevent them from living independently. In addition to our wide array of comprehensive medical, nursing and rehabilitative services, we provide other special features as part of our covenant with every resident who entrusts us with their care.
A selection of spacious suites, private and semi-private units with generous closet and storage space. Each suite is fresh and tastefully decorated, color coordinated and awaiting your personal touch.
A variety of comfortable accommodations, including furnishings, adjustable overhead lighting and individual climate controls. Residents may choose to bring their own furnishings and collectibles, re-creating their own home away from home.
A dedicated housekeeping and laundry staff keep residents’ clothing fresh and the building spotless and shining.
A well-trained, attentive, and caring personal bath team, who assist residents with bathing and dressing.
Transportation to doctor visits, recreational outings and personal shopping.
Nutritional services planned by a Registered Dietitian, including specialized and assisted dining needs. Family dining in our private dining room is also available to share those special moments with family and friends.
An electronic security system that protects memory-impaired residents from wandering while giving them full access to all common areas and courtyards.
A fun and stimulating program of activities planned with your interests and hobbies in mind, including outings to shop and participate in community life.
On-site pharmacy services. When an older adult is ill, getting treatment started quickly can make all the difference in the patient’s welfare. Our on-site pharmacy, staffed with licensed pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians, fills doctor’s prescriptions immediately utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
