At Scotia Village, around the clock health care is just moments away. Each home has emergency response units located in the bedrooms and bathrooms, and medical personnel are always ready, should an emergency arise. To encourage wellness, all residents have full access to the state-of-the-art Health Center. Day to day operations are overseen by the executive director who is also a licensed nursing home administrator; the director of nursing and the medical director. The Center also benefits from a competent staff of registered nurses and a host of consulting physicians who provide ongoing care and emergency support.
Tartan Place, the skilled nursing facility, provides 24-hour supervision to those who need around-the-clock nursing care and assistance. Medicare and Medicaid certified, Tartan Place provides exemplary care while private rooms preserve the dignity of the individual.
Heather Glen, which offers enhanced living for residents, is reserved for individuals who, though basically independent, require some assistance in their day-to-day affairs. Heather Glen residents feel that they have the best of both worlds ... nursing staff when needed, plus all the exciting, independent activities throughout the Scotia Village Community.
Scotia Village is also within close proximity to some of the world's premiere health-care facilities. Located only five minutes away is Scotland Memorial Hospital, Laurinburg's 124-bed community hospital. SMH is a not-for-profit, community-owned hospital with a range of specialties, including: anesthesiology, cardiology, family practice, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, pediatrics, pulmonary medicine, urology, radiation oncology and general and trauma surgery. In addition, several outpatient clinics also operate in conjunction with Duke University Medical Center.
FirstHealth of Moore County, a regional hospital, is only thirty minutes away, and the Duke and North Carolina Memorial Medical Centers are within a two-hour drive.
When health matters require attention, Scotia Village residents know they have a place to go for expert health care, whether on campus or in the surrounding area.
