Founded in 1951, Baptist Retirement Homes of North Carolina, Incorporated (BRH) is one of North Carolina’s most respected providers of long-term care. With four long-term care facilities located throughout the state, BRH provides all levels of care for Older Adults, including special programs for Older Adults with dementia-related disorders like Alzheimer’s Disease. Baptist Retirement Homes is a not-for-profit church-related organization that has a historical relationship with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.

Living Options To Meet a Variety of Needs

The Western North Carolina Baptist Home has been serving Older Adults since 1979. Residents live in attractive rooms and are cared for by a staff of compassionate professional caregivers. The community offers an active recreational and social life and the assurance of knowing that help is always available.

* In Assisted Living , care and assistance are tailored to the needs of the
individual residents.
* The Fowler Memory Enhanced Residence provides a home-like environment for
residents who have dementia-related disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease.
Activities are designed to encourage residents to stay involved with staff and
family.
* The Rickman Nursing Care Center is home to residents who need skilled nursing
care. The center employs a full-time health care staff, including on-site
RNs,LPNs, and Certified Nursing assistants.

Services/Nursing Care

The Rickman Nursing Center at the Western North Carolina Baptist Home
offers private or semi-private rooms for residents who require nursing care
services for short-term illnesses or after hospitalization for a recuperative period of time. Nursing care is also provided on a continuing basis for residents requiring long-term skilled nursing care. Licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants provided around-the-clock care.

Resident Services provided at the Rickman Nursing Care center include the following:

* Assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing and
eating

* Medication monitoring
* Beauty/barber shop *
* laundry and linen service
* Transportation for medical
appointments and shopping
* Health insurance filing and follow-up
